Criteria and guidance

Small-scale community events are funded based on duration: one day is £750, two days is £1,000, and more than two days is £1,250, with delivery starting from 1 December 2026. Christmas Tree Switch-on events are funded based on local population: under 1,000 is £500, 1,000 to 4,000 is £750, and over 4,000 is £1,000, with delivery from 16 November 2026. Switch-on events are exempt from the standard two grants per year rule. Applications are open to formally constituted, community-managed, not-for-profit community and voluntary organisations working at a local level.
